Space Intelligence Appoints First CFO to Support Global Growth
I’m delighted to welcome Martin Shand as Chief Financial Officer of Space Intelligence, marking the appointment of our first CFO as we continue to scale our mission to protect and restore nature through high-integrity data.
Martin brings over 25 years of financial leadership experience across major multinationals, and recently in high-growth technology businesses. His appointment comes at a pivotal time for Space Intelligence, as we expand internationally and deepen our engagement with both corporate and project developer clients. Welcome to the team, Martin.

Meet Martin Shand, CFO
What drew you to Space Intelligence?
Martin: I’m delighted to have joined a passionate, purpose-driven company with a vital mission: to improve the environment and help create a world free from deforestation.
From my first conversations with the team, I was struck by the professionalism, shared values, and collective ambition to make a genuine difference. That sense of mission really resonated with me.
Can you tell us a bit about your background?
Martin: I’ve spent more than 25 years in senior finance roles across a broad range of sectors—from multinational PLCs to fast-growing, owner-managed businesses.
Most recently, I was CFO at Ascensos, a global customer management company with 3,000+ staff across the UK, Romania, South Africa and Trinidad. I led the financial strategy and the sell-side due diligence process that resulted in our successful sale to Firstsource in 2024.
Earlier in my career, I held senior roles at large listed companies, including Heineken and John Menzies, gaining experience in logistics and FMCG.
What will your focus be at Space Intelligence?
Martin: The company already has strong foundations and a great team. My focus will be on strengthening our financial systems, supporting international expansion, and contributing to the long-term growth strategy.
I hope to bring commercial acumen and leadership from fast-paced environments, helping the business scale sustainably as we grow into new markets.
