DisturbanceTracker™ – Track and mitigate canopy loss in near real-time

DisturbanceTracker delivers monthly SAR-based intelligence on deforestation and selective logging, so you can monitor your REDD project health and act before canopy loss becomes irreversible.

spatial resolution with monthly alerts
more sensitive to disturbances than open source alerts
earlier disturbance detection than RADD

You might be holding credits from a forest
that no longer exists

Global deforestation alerts and manual field visits cannot reliably detect small-scale degradation — often the precursor to large-scale deforestation. Selective logging, road building, and expanding agriculture go unnoticed for months, undermining your project success and credit integrity.

DisturbanceTracker gives project developers and investors granular, frequent insights on forest disturbance — creating a continuous assurance layer for your REDD project monitoring.

Optical data
DisturbanceTracker

See through the clouds

Optical satellites are regularly blinded by cloud cover, and forest disturbances go undetected for months.

DisturbanceTracker uses Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR), which penetrates cloud to deliver continuous visibility of your forest.

SAR-Powered arrow
SAR measures changes in physical forest structure, not colour and eliminates the false positives caused by seasonal variation that affect optical-based alerts.
10m Resolution arrow
DisturbanceTracker delivers 10m spatial resolution across wet, closed-canopy tropical forest and mangroves, sufficient to detect individual logging events with confidence.
Monthly confirmed degradation arrow
Disturbances are flagged as unconfirmed after two satellite passes and confirmed after four. Every confirmed event is timestamped to the month, giving you a precise, auditable record.

Detect changes at the smallest scale

Selective logging — the most common precursor to full deforestation — is consistently missed by open-source alert systems. DisturbanceTracker is calibrated to catch it before it becomes a problem.

Comparison to RADD arrow
In a peer-reviewed Gabon study, DisturbanceTracker detected 26x more disturbances than its open source alternative RADD Alerts.
Smart Filtering & Low False Alarms arrow
DisturbanceTracker actively filters out planned tree plantation harvests to prevent false deforestation alarms.

Fast, actionable intelligence

DisturbanceTracker surfaces disturbances early and delivers intelligence your team can act on immediately — whether directing a field patrol or flagging an investment risk.

Confirmed Quarterly Reporting arrow
Mapping and quantification of confirmed canopy loss is reported every three months. Each confirmed event is assigned a monthly timestamp, so you know exactly where and when the loss happened
Focus Your Field Visits arrow
Project sites are massive, making random field visits impractical. Our alerts direct your teams exactly to recent disturbance sites so they can prevent further degradation.
Track Portfolio Health arrow
For offtakers, monthly alerts act as a trigger. Use the data to continuously monitor your investments, ask the right questions of developers, and protect your carbon capital from undetected permanence risks.

Detect more, sooner, with confidence

Global deforestation alerts are useful for screening — but they’re not built for monitoring carbon investments. Here’s how DisturbanceTracker compares.
